You may have noticed this chair — previously listed — now appears a little different and is priced slightly higher. The recliner has undergone another restoration: the whitewash has been removed to reveal and celebrate the timber’s natural tone. The frame was stripped, sanded and finished with Danish oil to enhance the grain. In its natural state, the frame beautifully complements the original cushions, which were new when the chair was first commissioned; a tightly woven, textured fabric that blends charcoal, brown and white.
The recliner operates with body weight, making the chair as functional as it is beautiful. Ideal as a statement reading chair or a complementary accent, this restored classic pairs effortlessly with both mid‑century modern and contemporary interiors.
This chair presents in very good vintage condition with only minimal wear marks to the fabric. An old Australian manufacturer’s stamp was found under the armrest when first purchased. Sourced in Sydney.
