The Flermont armchair was designed by Fred Lowen in the 1960s and manufactured by Australian maker Fler. It has undergone a sympathetic restoration: the original fabric has been gently cleaned, the timber frame has been touched up where required, and any loose joints have been glued and clamped. The chair shows expected signs of wear for its age but remains in good vintage condition. The upholstery appears to have been refreshed recently — the brown-and-gold textured weave is in excellent condition with no rips or holes, and complements the timber frame and overall design beautifully. Sourced in Sydney, the chair bears an Australian manufacturer’s label on the underside.
